This month’s tobacco fusion comes from the 40 Thieves Hookah Lounge located in Colorado:

1524 N Academy Blvd.
Colorado Springs, CO 80909

Erik Sweeney and Chris Copeland opened 40 Thieves in July of 2006 and have enjoyed ample and loyal patronage ever since. Sweeney - native Coloradan and graduate of the Art Institute of Colorado – and Copeland – native New Yorker and master of the operations side of the partnership – first joined forces last January in the creation of a comprehensive media consulting company. After noticing the multitude of youthful people, and the impeccable cross-section of cultures that only a military town could provide, the two partners also noticed a deficiency in the entertainment opportunities available to this market.

“40 Thieves strives to offer a nice mix of the traditional culture and atmosphere with the goal of bringing hookah to a more mainstream level. The cultural melting pot of a mainly military city like Colorado Springs offers a great opportunity to grow our brand,” says Copeland.

The uniquely and tastefully mixed Mediterranean and African deco creates a sophisticated and exotic ambiance. The lounge services the 18 and older trendsetters of Colorado Springs, offering contemporary pastimes like “Wednesday Hold’em Poker nights” with free sky diving trip giveaways, pool tournaments, and live entertainment. Aside from quality hookahs and flavorful tobacco, the lounge also offers beverages and snacks, including a unique “Oral Fixation” mint.

For a tobacco mix that would make Tucan Sam follow his nose from the rainforest in cereal land to Colorado, Copeland and Sweeney recommend “Fruit Loops.” This mix was derived from two other popular mixes from the lounge, and taste “…almost identical to eating fruit loops!”

Fruit Loops Recipe:

Starbuzz Blueberry Tobacco

Starbuzz Lemon Tobacco

1 cup Orange Juice

Water

Ice

  1. Use equal parts of blueberry and lemon tobacco.

  2. Fill the base with water and ice.

  3. Add the orange juice.

The blueberry and lemon tobacco flavors combine to make the sugary sweet fruity deliciousness of Fruit Loops, and the orange juice adds a nice citrus aftertaste. This mix also goes great with a taste of Go Fast Energy Drink just before a drag.
