| The Velvet Hookah began as a coffee shop with very modern décor. The space was full of very linear and clean cut lines and furniture with high tables complete with tall chairs. In experimentation Jei, who also appears to be a jack of all trades, lowered one of the tables by chopping off the legs and boosting the face with a lower base. He circled the lowered table with floor pillows, and unknowingly laid the foundation for the future of The Velvet Hookah: He noticed instantaneously that his clientele would flock to the lowered tables. After taking note of the obviously preferred seating arrangement, Jei lowered all the tables, got rid of most of the chairs, and draped the lounge in comfy, plush floor pillows. From that point, The Velvet Hookah began to metamorphose into the sexy, chic, trendy lounge it is today. While the lounge doesn’t have all of the traditional bells and whistles, i.e.: belly dancers or Arab food, they are very focused on building a brand for The Velvet Hookah, and an amazing environment for their clients. “The Velvet Hookah is an experience, it not about a body count…” Seeking to provide the ultimate grown and sexy experience, the club does feature a silhouette dancer once a week, and spins dance remixes of popular songs at a level low enough to foster a social environment. When asked what we could expect to see from The Velvet Hookah in the future, Jei responded: “We’re out to define the hookah experience for America…not for Americans but within the borders of America. When they do a history channel or A&E study about the rise and fall of hookahs in America, we don’t want them to be able to complete the study without mentioning The Velvet Hookah.” Above all, The Velvet Hookah has built a name for itself through its original and appetizing shisha mixes. For this reason, we were honored when they agreed to provide our readers with a mix. Simple, but sexy, Pillow Fight is a flavor you can’t help but feel chic while smoking! The mix was created by one of the club’s Hookah Masters, when he thought of a pillow fight and decided to create a flavor that would taste like a pillow fight. Upon imagining a pillow fight he immediately thought of girls having a slumber party, making each other up, and chewing bubble gum. From this brief daydream, Pillow Fight was born!” Pillow Fight: 20% Rose 80% Spearamint Bubblegum All you need to make this mix are the two flavors above, a little sass, and throw a lot of love in the base! For the truly grown and sexy, Pillow Fight goes well with a very sweet wine. |
